 The three principles presented here are part of a modern interpretation of Hermetic thought, as formulated in The Kybalion at the beginning of the 20th century. They are based on motifs from ancient Hermeticism, but are not taken directly from historical writings. Instead, they serve today primarily as a philosophical model for orientation and reflection.
 The linen fabric serves as a visible symbol—the field of consciousness. All frequencies are contained within it.
 1. The principle of spirituality:
 The universe is spirit, the universe is spiritual. All visible events were preceded by a spiritual cause. The universe encompasses everything, including thoughts and feelings, all existing energies and forces. Everything is consciousness. Consciousness is the basis of all being.
